Savannah Inns champion “The Savannah Pajama Shop Hop”

Four Savannah innkeepers think it’s time for more fun-loving Christmas spirit – merrier with more laughter and playfulness in Savannah! “The Savannah Pajama Shop Hop” is the campaign introduced by one quartet of merry makers.

The idea has been in the works for months.  And, while delivering the pink “Pajama Shop Hop” posters, they are discovering they are not the only ones to get an jump start for an early Christmas 2012.

Already in November there are nostalgic holiday sounds playing in cafes. We have spotted oversize Christmas wreaths, decorated windows, and lighted trees even before Thanksgiving. On a nighttime strolled in the Design District we spotted holiday ornaments, a lighted tree and blue balcony lights.

There on display amid holiday ornaments at One Fish Two Fish (Jones Street at Whitaker) are beautiful pajamas. Perfect! Beautiful pajamas are one key requirement to participate in “Pajama Shopping”, championed by four Savannah Inns, who are joined by over 60 downtown businesses.

The Savannah Inns took the lead from another holiday shopping success in Florida. “It’s working elsewhere to enliven shopping, especially when friends meet up. After a long political year, who isn’t ready for some lighthearted fun?” adds Jackie Heinz, innkeeper at Zeigler House.

“Yes, we want travelers and shoppers to come to Savannah, stay in our historic inns, shop more in Savannah’s small boutique shops, and dine in the intimate cafes and restaurants!” Green Palm Inn’s Diane McCray adds. The city is inspiringly beautiful. The food and dining spots are as varied and delicious as one might wish.

“And, over sixty downtown Savannah businesses are taking part with us in a novel idea of ‘Shopping in Pajamas’ in December 2012,” explains Teresa Jacobson, innkeeper at Azalea Inn & Gardens.
